Aleksander Kierski

Aleksander Kierski has over 25 years of experience in holding senior executive positions in investment banking and private equity in Western and Eastern Europe. During his career, Aleksander has completed over 20 transaction for over US$ 200 mln as principal for institutional private equity funds. He participated in fundraising and managing over 15 funds (generalist and sector specific) and managed transactions from classical startups to expansion stage financing, LBO’s to distressed asset sales and hostile bids.

He was a member of the Board in over 20 Telecommunication, High Technology, Media and FMCG companies. Since 2005, Aleksander is the Founder and Managing Partner of JAK Capital, an investment firm that focuses on private equity investments, NPL portfolio acquisitions, distressed asset and real estate transactions. JAK Capital originated, led and structured transactions that were financed by established private equity funds and hedge funds. Previously, for three years, Aleksander held the position of Vice President for Eastern Europe with Citigroup Venture Capital International and managed a private equity portfolio of over US$ 210 mln.

Prior to this, Aleksander was Chief Investment Officer in AIG New Europe Fund (private equity fund of over US$ 320 mln focusing on Central Europe). Previously, for 9 years Aleksander was a Partner at Baring Private Equity Partners Ltd. (ING Group) in Paris and Geneva, where he was responsible for investments in France, Switzerland and other Western European countries. He also spent two years with Arthur Andersen (Switzerland) and two years with Postech (a Swiss software company). Aleksander lived his early years in the Far-East, Pacific, Europe and North Africa, where he was educated in French and British Private Schools. Fluent in English, French and Polish, he holds a BSc (Computer Science and Physics) from the University of Sydney, Australia, and a MBA from BSL, Lausanne.
